Because we do not require you to create an account, we collect very limited data:
A. Usage Data (Automatic)
When you access the Service, we may collect certain information automatically, including your device type, browser version, IP address, and unique device identifiers. This is essential for the Service to function.
B. Local Storage Data (Cookies)
We use your browser's "Local Storage" and "Cookies" to track your remaining scan credits. We do not store this data on our servers; it lives on your device.
C. User Content (Photos)
When you upload a photo of food or a fridge, we process that image to generate a recipe.
D. Payment Information
We use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe collects identifying information about your devices to prevent fraud.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service (e.g., counting your daily free scans).
- To process payments for scan credit packs via Stripe.
- To analyze uploaded photos using Artificial Intelligence (see Section 5).
- To detect and prevent fraudulent use.
4. Data Storage & "No Login" Architecture
Important: We do not maintain user accounts. Your purchased credits and settings are stored locally on your device.
- If you clear your browser cache, delete cookies, or switch devices, your data (including paid credits) will be lost.
- We generally cannot restore lost credits because we have no way of linking your payment to your specific device once the data is cleared.
5. Sharing Your Data (Third Parties)
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the essential service providers required to run the app:
- Payment Processing: We share payment details with Stripe, Inc. to process transactions securely. You can read Stripe's Privacy Policy here.
- AI Processing: We send your uploaded photos to Anthropic (Claude) via API for analysis and recipe generation. Anthropic may retain data for a limited time to improve safety and compliance but does not use your data to train their models without consent.
- Hosting: Our Service is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., Vercel, AWS, Google Cloud).
6. International Data Transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the US, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
7. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your data:
- Access & Deletion: Since we do not store user accounts, we generally do not hold "personal data" linked to your identity. However, if you have provided an email address (e.g., for support), you may request its deletion.
